ODE To Luigi Galvani

Ode to Luigi Galvani is an interactive video object based on Galvani’s frog leg experiment of 1790. I built three Leyden Jars as props to symbolize three different-sized battery voltages and constructed cables to run from each. Different animations will play depending on how much “power” the user gives the box. This idea has allowed me to utilize my skills in woodworking, electronics, AND video. I got to drill into glass, code a raspberry pi and create my own Frankenstein cables. This was a dream project and it has allowed me to be the mad scientist of my dreams… finally!

Emotional Garments

Integrated Media Installation

Emotional Garments is a five-channel video installation integrated with five handmade garment sculptures. Sadness Bloomers, Joy Hat, Fear Armor, Anger Gloves, and Pride Cloak (left to right). Five performers wore the respective garment and were filmed being filled with that emotion.

This piece was created to explore the idea of wearables giving us permission to not only fully FEEL that emotion, but to celebrate it.
